About the event
The course is designated for anybody who want to start a new career on board the ship as a housekeeping staff. We are going to share with you our knowledge, skills and experience in order for you to be fit for the job. We start a new course every three weeks on the following dates: Feb 5, Feb 26, Mar 19, Apr 23, May 14, Jun 4, Jun 25 / 2018.

*Housekeeping department. Duties and responsibilities. Team service. Job description.
*Environmental awareness. Proper lifting techniques. Helping the Environment. The garbage management plan. Garbage separation. Recycling. Bio-hazardous waste.
*Chemicals handling and purpose of usage.
*Personal protective equipment.
*Introduction of cleaning equipment in details.
*Usage and handling.
*Housekeeping service. Rules and regulations. Embarkation. Luggage operation. Debarkation. *Stateroom cleaning. Areas of cleaning & required chemicals and equipment.
*Bathroom cleaning. Areas of cleaning & required chemicals and equipment.

*Hospitality. Personal attributes of a housekeeping
*Communication. Body Language. Steps to remember guest name. Public speaking. Guest introduction. Special needs guest.
*Terminology (ex: roll-away bed = extra bed that is usually folded when not in use and are kept in the Housekeeping lockers).
*Understanding of using hospitable phrases and greetings whether on or off duty.
